Analisis Kualitatif dan Kuantitatif Metabolit Sekunder Ekstrak Etanol Daun Pimelodendron griffithianum

Pimelodendron griffithianum leaves are empirically used by the Mekendetung Village community, Sikka Regency, to treat digestive disorders. This study aimed to identify secondary metabolite compounds and determine the total polyphenol content of the ethanolic extract of P. griffithianum leaves. This pre-experimental study utilized fresh leaf samples extracted via maceration using 70% ethanol. Qualitative analysis was conducted through phytochemical screening, while quantitative analysis of polyphenol content was performed using UV-Vis spectrophotometry with Folin-Ciocalteu reagent and gallic acid standard. The extraction process yielded 31.829 grams of thick extract with a yield of 7.95%. Phytochemical screening revealed positive results for flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, polyphenols, and terpenoids, but negative for steroids. Quantitative measurement showed a total polyphenol content of 36.894 mg GAE/g extract. This study concludes that the ethanolic extract of P. griffithianum leaves contains significant potential bioactive compounds with a measurable polyphenol content.
